Inside Sales Associate for Power Transmission Division

Wichita, KS

Murdock Companies is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Associate for our Power Transmission Division. We at Murdock Companies are dedicated to supplying business, agriculture, government, and professional trades-people with quality commercial and industrial solutions- light equipment, parts, tools, and products coupled to reliable and helpful service solutions for Murdock customers within and beyond Kansas and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities include but not limited to...

• Act as primary contact for customers, assuring excellent customer service levels are met and exceeded.

• Timely processing and communication of all inquiries, orders, complaints, returns and corrections.
• Extensive knowledge of account requirements and special situations, with the ability to get results for customers.
• Educate customers about terminology and features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales.
• Follow through on customer and internal inquiries including order entry, returns, inventory ramifications, etc.
• Suggest alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
• Handle exceptions, substitutions, allocations and other special problems.
• Gain specialized technical knowledge about Murdock Companies products and applications.
• Maintain knowledge of and utilize vendor portals and online resources.
• Gather and provide information to sales and management team
• Work cooperatively with other Murdock Companies associates offering assistance when requested/required.
• Represent Murdock Companies professionally and competently in all situations adhering to our vision statement and core values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of  three years related experience in power transmission industrial parts sales
• Experience and knowledge of power transmission, repair, and related products.
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to navigate computer software systems including all Microsoft Office products
• Able to sit for long periods of time, responding to all phone and email requests
• A commitment to "doing it right the first time.
• Must have a positive attitude
• Must have a proven track record of reliability
• Must be detail oriented, organized, and focused 
• Must have the ability to multitask and manage time well
• Must have a valid driver’s license
